Ramoreboli urges fans to rally behind Bafana in must-win clash

Bafana Bafana stand-in coach Morena Ramoreboli has urged supporters to come out in numbers for their Cosafa Cup final Group A clash against Eswatini at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Tuesday evening.

The Cosafa Cup is intensifying as both teams will be vying for nothing less than three points if they are to advance to the semi-finals of the regional competition.

Bafana come from the back of a hard-fought 2-1 win over Botswana over the weekend, when they came from behind to score two goals in quick succession.

Thanks to second half goals from Stellenbosch FC striker Iqraam Rayners, who converted from the penalty spot, and a well-taken strike by Royal AM winger Shaune Mogaila.

Ramoreboli has appealed to the home supporters to once again rally behind the team and give them the boost they need.

“We have to win this one to see ourselves in the semi-finals of the Cosafa Cup,” Ramorebodi said ahead of the encounter.

“I think it is also proper for me to thank our supporters who have been there for us, giving us a morale boost, rallying behind the team.”

“It will be important for us to have them rally behind the team in this coming match [against Eswatini].”

Ramorebodi’s charges kick-off their Cosafa Cup campaign with a 1-1 draw against Namibia last week, which was followed by the 2-1 win against 10-men Botswana.

Bafana are currently sitting on top of the Group A table with four points, one point ahead of Eswatini with three points after two games.

Namibia and Botswana will play their final Group A clash simultaneously at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Kick-off time is at 6pm.
