Ronaldo and Manchester United agree to go separate ways

Manchester United have parted ways with star player Cristiano Ronaldo by mutual agreement, the club said in a statement on Tuesday.

This after a controversial interview that Ronaldo held with Piers Morgan on TalkTv where he ridiculed the English football giants and the club’s hierarchy.

Ronaldo further criticised how the Red Devils have been run since his first stint at Old Trafford, accusing the Glazer family of not taking care of the club.

Despite having a successful season in his return, banging 24 goals in 41 games, the veteran striker has had it hard this season under the leadership of Erik Ten Hag, only managing to score three goals in all competitions.

The biggest highlight between the fall-off of the two was when Ronaldo refused to come on for three minutes against Tottenham, which resulted in him being banned from United’s first-team activities.

Ronaldo also released a statement expressing his love for the club and its fans.

The 37-year-old is currently in Qatar with the Portuguese national team. They take on Ghana in their Group H opening encounter on Thursday.
