The South African Football Association (Safa) is mourning yet another loss following the death of Mabu Maroaswi.
Maroaswi, chairman of Mpumalanga-based Hollywoodbets Super League team Coal City Wizards, succumbed to a long illness on Monday.
“Maroaswi passed away on Monday, 2 January 2023 after a long illness and Safa is deeply saddened by his loss. The details of his funeral service and other related activities will be conveyed in due course,” Safa said in a statement.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, loved ones, friends and the club. May his soul rest in peace.”
Maroaswi’s death follows that of Premier Soccer League marketing and broadcasting specialist advisor, Peter “Squire” Mancer, who passed away on Monday night.
