Kaizer Chiefs announced on Friday that defender S’fiso Hlanti will remain at the club for another season, while midfielder Cole Alexander reached an agreement to be a free agent.
Hlanti signed a one-year contract extension with an option for a further year, which will see him form part of the tenure of newly appointed head coach Molefi Ntseki next season, with Arthur Zwane and Dillon Sheppard assisting him.
In a statement, club sporting director Kaizer Motaung Jr said: “We are happy that we have agreed on this contract extension with S’fiso.
“He is an important member of the team, given his experience and ability. We look forward to his continued hard work and sharing his knowledge with the young players we have in the team.
“On the other hand, we are sad to see a talented player like Cole leave the Club but having spoken with his people, we came to the conclusion that it is in the interests of all parties for us to let him go,” Motaung Jr. added.
“We will always appreciate Cole’s contribution to Kaizer Chiefs and give him our blessings and wish him everything of the best in his career.”
Alexander signed a three-year deal with Amakhosi after joining a free transfer from Indian outfit Odisha in 2021.
The 33-year-old leaves Naturena having featured in 21 matches (17 starts) during his first season, but recurrent injuries limited him to only four starts and three substitute appearances during the last season.
