Shalulile’s return a blessing ahead of Pirates, Chiefs test – Lebusa

It will be an action-packed week of football for Mamelodi Sundowns as they prepare to face Soweto giants Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs within a short space of three days.

Downs will visit Bucs at the Orlando Stadium for a league clash on Wednesday night before hosting Amakhosi in the MTN8 semifinal at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.

Both matches come at the right time, according to defender Mosa Lebusa, following the return to action of Peter Shalulile.

Shalulile, who spent weeks on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury, was given some game time at the weekend.

The Namibian goalscoring assassin announced his return in style when he found the back of the net in their 4-0 victory against Burundian champions Bumamuru.

The teams locked horns in the CAF Champions League second preliminary round first leg.

Ahead of a mouthwatering midweek encounter against Bucs, Lebusa said the Brazilians are delighted to have their talisman back.

“Having Peter back is a blessing for us as a team,” Lebusa told Sunday World during a media briefing at Chloorkop in Kempton Park on Monday.

“We are very lucky to have him back and it just increases the options we have upfront. You know every game that he plays in, he always tries to make sure that he gets a goal.

“As the coach [Rulani Mokwena] said before, when we were in Tanzania [against Bumamuru], we were not ruthless upfront.

“I think having one extra option upfront will increase our chances of scoring more goals and just being ruthless in front of goal.”

Despite receiving the Shalulile boost upfront, Pirates also pose a threat in Zakhele Lepasa after he netted 10 goals in eight matches across all competitions so far this season.
