Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Siyabonga Ngezana was on Sunday officially unveiled by the 26-time Romanian champions Steaua Bucharest as their latest signing.
This after Ngezana made a surprise exit at Amakhosi recently to join the Romanian powerhouse – penning a five-year contract reported to be worth R12-million.
“Our club can announce that it has reached an agreement with Kaizer Chiefs for Siyabonga Ngezana,” reads part of the club statement.
“The 25-year-old South African defender plays in our shirt next season with the number 30. Our club welcomes him and may he have many successes in the red-blue shirt.”

Ngezana spent seven seasons as a first team player at Chiefs, making 126 appearances in all competitions.
His senior team debut was against Mamelodi Sundowns in 2017 under coach Steve Komphela, who has since joined Swallows FC as new head coach.
With Bucharest set to feature in the Uefa Conference League next season, Ngezana will form part of the squad that will be selected to compete in Europe’s third-tier Uefa competition.
Ngezana, who is expected to start training with his teammates upon his arrival in Romania, received an emotional send-off from his family when he left on Saturday.
