A jampacked weekend of football ended in agony for Mamelodi Sundowns after they crashed out of the CAF Champions League at the hands of the reigning champions Wydad Athletic Club.
Closer to home, Kaizer Chiefs suffered yet another defeat, ending their DStv Premiership season on a sad note, while further abroad, Manchester City were crowned English Premier League champions after Arsenal lost to Nottingham Forest.
Here are some of the highlights of the best moments over the weekend:
Bruising end to Downs campaign as Wydad laugh loudest
The Brazilians bowed out of the continental competition on away-goal rule after playing to a 2-2 draw against Wydad at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday.
The Moroccans made a statement win against the Downs, who dominated the game, but fell short in the dying minutes of the game when Mothobi Mvala netted an own goal.
Wydad will now go up against Percy Tau’s Al Ahly, in what will be a repeat of last year’s Champions League final.
After a valiant effort in front of a packed-out Loftus Versfeld, it ends all square but means the Brazilians bow out of the Champions League. A massive THANKS to the entire yellow nation for constantly backing the boys and giving us the energy to keep going!💛

Chiefs fail to put a smile on supporters’ faces
The Soweto giants ended their premiership season with yet another defeat. Amakhosi succumbed to a narrow 1-0 loss to 10-men Cape Town City at an almost empty FNB Stadium on Saturday.
Now that the season is finally over for the Glamour Boys, coach Arthur Zwane and his troops will have a lot of think about heading into their next campaign.

Man City kings of English football
The Citizens of Manchester were crowned English Premier League champions without kicking the ball at the weekend, after Arsenal were stunned by relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest.
With the league done and dusted, the Citizens will shift their focus on the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League, in their efforts to clinch their first ever European title and treble.

Gallants lose top-flight football status
Following a topsy-turvy season in the DStv Premiership and the CAF Confederations Cup, Marumo Gallants were officially relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
Gallants lost 2-0 to Swallows FC during their penultimate game at the Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday.
The Limpopo-outfit suffered a double blow, after they were knocked out of the Confederations Cup semifinals by Young Africans of Tanzania midweek, which was followed by their relegation.
