TS Galaxy aim to launch their rockets at Usuthu

With one spot in the Carling Black Label Knockout final already booked, TS Galaxy will be preparing their propellants and launch their rockets at Ama-Zulu when they clash in the second semifinal at the Moses Mabhida Stadium this afternoon at 3pm.

Galaxy booked their place in the last four by going past Mamelodi Sundowns and Sekhukhune United on penalties, while AmaZulu beat Kaizer Chiefs and Golden Arrows.

The Rockets have become one of the toughest bottom half teams in the DStv Premiership to go up against since the arrival of outspoken German coach Sead Ramovic. Ramovic witnessed his side score three goals when they outclassed Polokwane City in their last game.

Usuthu will, however, not make things easy for them, as they have been on high flying form in recent outings. They have banged in six goals in their last two outings.

Ahead of the encounter, captain Mlungisi Mbunjana, who clinched the R100 000 man-of-the-match prize money in the quarterfinal against Sundowns, said the motivation of the team will be beyond receiving the hefty cheque.

“The R100 000 prize money motivates everyone in the team to perform well and I want to believe that the opposition will be equally motivated too because it is a huge amount of money,” Mbunjana said.

“This is a competition that everyone has a chance to play and do well in. You can just play four games and can be crowned champions.

“Even though the man-of-the-match prize money is a motivation, we must not forget the bigger picture – which is playing for the team and hopefully going all the way to winning the competition.”

With Bernard Parker back on the grass training on his own and working hard on his recovery following the horrific injury he experienced in the first round of the competition, Mbunjana said his presence in the camp is an extra motivation for the team to do well.

“Him being here is just extra motivation for the team because if you remember, he picked up this injury in the first game of the competition,” he said.

“So, seeing him walk on his own and working hard in rehab is motivating to the rest of the group to believe that we can go all the way.”
