We are ready for Bafana –Hanamub

AmaZulu and Namibian international player Riaan Hanamub says their match against Bafana Bafana will be good for the team in the coming CHAN qualifiers.

The Brave Warriors are gearing themselves to face one of their biggest rivals, Bafana Bafana on Saturday. The friendly international will take place at the Orlando Stadium at 3pm.

Bafana and Namibia have a long history of rivalry, which could be mostly fuelled by politics, with the latter being a former colony of South Africa. So, every time the two countries meet, sparks fly.

“This is just not a friendly match. Bafana are one of our biggest rivals and we will see if we can win this game. We will try our best and give it our best shot,” Hanamub said.

“This is a good opportunity for the team and the guys to prepare for the CHAN qualifiers. It is also a good chance for the players to set themselves up for the new league season in Namibia. The new season will kick off on 16 September – so the match against South Africa will be good for our players.

“South Africa has a lot of experienced players, and they will come guns blazing. We will prepare well and give them a run for their money. We have speed and direct approach. We work together and support each other in our team – so, we are calling on our supporters here in SA to come and support us,” he added.

Bafana coach Hugo Broos has chosen an exciting squad that will face the Namibians. Three days later, the South Africans will play against DR Congo as part of their preparations for the 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers in November.
