Wounded Spurs enter Man City den

Manchester City will be hosting hobbling Tottenham Hotspur that will be desperate to return to winning ways when they meet in their English Premier League match-day 14 at the Etihad Stadium this evening at 6:30 pm.

Spurs have been running out of steam and saw their blissful bubble of a remarkable start to their Premier League campaign under new manager Ange Postecoglou burst. They lost three matches on the bounce, something that has worried many Spurs supporters.

The north Londoners now face a threat of experiencing another heavy defeat as they will be going toe-to-toe against a Man City side that is not shy in finding the back of the net and bulldozing any opponent standing in its way of three points.

Even so, City are also facing their own gloominess of winning a league match. They come from two frustrating draws against Chelsea (4-4) and Liverpool (1-1) and will also be looking to bounce back at the expense of Tottenham.

Pep Guardiola and his City side go into the match as outright favourites to walk away with maximum points, as Postecoglou is not only suffering from a headache of results not coming but an injury crisis too.

The likes of Richarlison, James Maddison, Micky van de Ven, and the latest Rodrigo Bentancur are some of key players that will be spending time on the sidelines through injury.

Richarlison was, however, spotted in training on Friday as he returned to training to start his rehab and is predicted to return to action before the end of the calendar year.

The incredible comeback by City in the Champions League midweek against RB Leipzig will serve as a confidence booster for Guardiola and his men.

The terrifying striking partnership of Erling Haaland and World Cup winner Julian Alvarez is proving to be dangerous, as they continue to bang in goals week-in-week-out.
