The DHL Stormers will today fly out to Europe for their crucial United Rugby Championship against Ulster this week and also against Cardiff in Wales the following week. The game against Ulster next week will take place at the Affidea Stadium in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
In their last match against the Glasgow Warriors, the Stormers ran in six tries to claim a 48-12 win against the at DHL Stadium and moved to the top of the
Vodacom URC standings.
It was a statement performance in the last home game of the regular season and puts the DHL Stormers in a strong position heading into the final two rounds before the play-offs.
Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu opened the scoring with a penalty in his 50th match.
According to the SuperSport website, injuries are a bit of a worry for the side, with Cobus Reinach likely to be out of the rest of the Vodacom URC season after sustaining an injury against the Glasgow Warriors and JD Schickerling ruled out for six months during the build-up week, so it would be wrong to say it’s all plain sailing for the Stormers.
But the Cape team does have scrumhalves in reserve and Imad Khan is undeniably going to be a future star, but if you look beyond the hype around France’s Antoine Dupont, veteran Reinach could arguably be the best No 9 in the world right now.
