Johannesburg – A 12-year-old, desperate to relieve himself, allegedly did so at the gate of a neighbour’s home, who then made him eat his faeces.
The Eastern Cape couple from Komani, Asanda Mkoko (39) and Ayabulela Yolanda Buso (28), was arrested on Monday this week and appeared at the Queenstown Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
It is believed that the incident happened on Saturday.
Anelisa Ngcakani, National Prosecuting Authority Regional Spokesperson, said the NPA will be opposing bail in the matter.
The 12-year-old boy was reportedly playing with his friends at Nkululekweni Township in Komani (Queenstown) and it’s alleged that while he was busy relieving himself the couple approached him and assaulted him with a broom.
When the child apologised, the two allegedly told him that they will never accept his apology unless he ate it.
It is alleged that they then forced the boy to eat it and released him afterwards.

He reported the matter to members of the community who reported it to the police.
The couple was charged with attempted murder, child abuse and assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
Their case was postponed to 15 June 2021 for a formal bail application.
