Baxter and Ntseki to reunite at Naturena

Johannesburg – Former national coach Stuart Baxter is expected to make a dramatic return to Kaizer Chiefs.

Baxter will work with his former assistant Molefi Ntseki, who recently parted ways with Safa and the national team.

On Friday, Chiefs sacked Gavin Hunt after a difficult season for the former Super- Sport United and Bidvest Wits coach.

Hunt’s dismissal has been met with mixed reactions.

He was at Naturena for eight months and leaves the club occupying a worrying position 11 on the league table and five points above the relegation zone.

In his first stint with the club, Baxter had a wonderful period with the club, winning the league and various trophies. An insider close to the events revealed that Baxter and Ntseki are set to be announced any time.

“The two coaches have agreed on terms with the club. The club could not wait any longer because the results were not coming,” said the informer.

In their recent matches, Amakhosi were made a laughing stock after they lost to lowly placed sides and relegation candidates such as Chippa , Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila and Leopards.

Last week, Chiefs almost squandered a 4-0 lead in the CAF Champions League against Simba of Tanzania. The Tanzanians almost caused an upset when they won 3-0 and barely missed out on equalising.

But the midweek 2-1 loss to Leopards was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Dillon Sheppard and Arthur Zwane will be in charge of the remaining league matches and the CAF Champions League semifinal against Wydad.

Efforts to reach Hunt and Chiefs manager of football Bobby Motaung were unsuccessful as their phones rang unanswered.
