President Cyril Ramaphosa’s younger brother Douglas Ramaphosa has been appointed as a board member of technology group 4Sight.
The younger Douglas Ramaphosa will serve as independent non-executive director, and the company is elated to have a person of Ramaphosa’s calibre – boasting a total of 40 years in the business sphere of executive management – joining them .
4Sights is valued at R139-million.
Like his brother, Ramaphosa is a smart businessman. He served as chairperson of pharmaceutical organisation BGM Pharmaceuticals and IRCA, an organisation whose special interest is training in safety and mining.
The company Ramaphosa joins invests in technology, telecommunications, and the media.
Like his brother, Douglas Ramaphosa is a die-hard ANC member, having joined the then liberation movement at the age of 14.
He soon attracted the attention of the apartheid security forces, forcing him to go into exile in Botswana and Zambia, among others.
He is the graduate of Rostov State University, and majored in political science. He looks forward to serving the organisation with dedication, as he has done in his previous appointment.
