Eskom on Friday announced it had appointed Bheki Nxumalo as group executive generation, effective immediately.
“His career in the energy sector spans over 20 years. He is an all-round business leader comfortable in governance, people and technical aspects of the role,” the power utility said in a statement.
Nxumalo will report to the acting Eskom CEO Calib Cassim. Before this appointment, Nxumalo was the CEO of Eskom Enterprises and Rotek Industries.
Icasa appoints an acting chair
This month, the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (Icasa) announced the appointment of councillor Yolisa Kedama as its acting chairperson, effective April 4.
Kedama is a specialist in radio frequency planning and a researcher in new technologies in satellite communication.
MultiChoice makes major leadership changes
MultiChoice has announced that MultiChoice South Africa chief executive Nyiko Shiburi will take up the role of MultiChoice chief technology officer effective April 1.
SuperSport boss Marc Jury will take over as MultiChoice South Africa CEO. Teix Texeira will be interim SuperSport CEO from April 1. Rendani Ramovha, the head of marketing at SuperSport, has been appointed as SuperSport CEO-elect and will take over the position from April 1 2024.
ArcelorMittal SA appoints new CFO
ArcelorMittal South Africa appointed Siphamandla Mthethwa as its new chief financial officer and executive director, effective 1 July 2023. Mthethwa is a chartered accountant and has completed the advanced management programme at the Harvard Business School.
Sawil appoints new CEO
Strategic African Women In Leadership (Sawil) has appointed Moloko Komane as its new chief executive.
Barloworld appoints two directors
Industrial conglomerate Barloworld on Friday announced it had appointed Vuyisa Nkonyeni and Bashirat Odunewu as new non-executive directors.
“Vuyisa is a chartered accountant with over 25 years of experience in investment banking and private equity. He has served on,” Barloworld said.
Odunewu is a chartered accountant with over 30 years of experience in finance and banking. Nkonyeni has been appointed as a member of the Baroloworld board audit, risk and strategy and investments committees.
Odunewu has been appointed as a member of the audit, remuneration and social, as well as the ethics and transformation committees.
Vunani makes management changes
Vunani this week announced it had changed its group management and operational structure effective April 13.
“The changes have been made possible by the group’s achievement of the medium-term strategic objectives communicated to shareholders in April 2020,” the company said.
