Shaka iLembe actor Thembinkosi Mthembu has been nominated for Hunk of the Year category for this year’s Feather Awards. Mthembu has been nominated with Mondli Makhoba and Toss.
The 15th edition of the awards announced the fabulous and fierce nominees for 2023 in Rosebank on Friday. The event will take place on November 9 at the Market Theatre in Johannesburg.
The Feather Awards celebrate the unique tapestry of the LGBTQIA+ community and honour those who have made a significant impact in entertainment and advocacy.
Fabulous Modiselle sisters
For a third consecutive season, the beloved Modiselle sisters Refilwe, Bontle and Candice will return as the 2023 hosts.
This year, the Simon Nkoli Award will be awarded to songbird Thandiswa Mazwai.
Thami Kotlolo, Feathers co-founder, said the 2003 awards will aim to celebrate the diversity, creativity and resilience of all communities during challenging times.
“Finding support for our initiatives continues to be a struggle. We are forever inspired by the boldness and braveness of the queer community continuing to push boundaries, claim spaces and create greater freedom for all,” said Kotlolo.
