Award-winner Lady Zamar is smitten with her new partner

Lady Zamar has moved on and found love again after her painful break-up with fellow musician Sjava eight years ago.

The multiple-award-winning singer, whose real name is Yamikani Banda, recently disclosed to the Spreading Humours podcast that she is madly in love with a mystery man.

“I am head over heels, guys. We have been seeing each other for just under a month. I love to love,” said the Runaway hitmaker.

“I always try to be in a relationship, but if it doesn’t work out, I leave. We had a fantastic time on Valentine’s Day.”

Given that the vocal artist made her wish known on social media at the start of this year, it appears that her wish to find love arrived sooner than anticipated.

I don’t need to heal

She wrote on X: “I just like to post stuff about relationships because I love you … I’m not hurt; I don’t need to heal; I just want to share what I think or tell you stuff I think is helpful, you know.“

Lady Zamar and Sjava, whose real name is Jabulani Hadebe, caught many people napping when they jointly and publicly announced that they had ended their two-year affair in 2017.

Although there was some intimacy in the leaked images, the couple had kept their relationship a secret, leaving many questions.

Lady Zamar shockingly claimed in the same year that the musician and actor had sexually assaulted her in a Thohoyandou hotel following a performance.

In 2020, the National Prosecuting Authority dismissed the case, stating that “the evidence or facts do not support a successful prosecution.”

For Sjava, the accusations had disastrous effects. His nominations for the DStv Mzansi Viewers Choice Awards were revoked.

At the time, Sjava had been nominated in the favourite music artist or group and best song categories.

Weathering the storm

In a statement, MultiChoice South Africa said in part, “The decision to remove Sjava’s eligibility, including cancelling his performance at the awards, is not one that has been made lightly, but we believe it is in the best interest of all parties concerned.”

More than three years after making the claims, Lady Zamar encountered criticism on social media.

After enduring the storm, she got over it and found the confidence to release her most recent song, Deeper, early this month.
