Carol Ofori to star in new local Disney+ series

Television and radio personality Carol Ofori will be starring in an upcoming episode of a local Disney+ series, Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire, an animated anthology that draws on the continent’s rich and diverse histories and cultures.

The series will present 10 sci-fi and fantasy stories featuring bold and brave new worlds of advanced technology, aliens, spirits, and monsters.

The anthology tells stories from creators hailing from Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.

Ofori will star in an episode titled Mkhuzi: The Spirit Racer and plays the role of titular character Mkhuzi. 

Ofori shared that she was excited to be part of the production and because talent from the whole African continent is involved makes her so proud.

“I’ve always wanted to create content for Africans, African children, and for the world to consume our content as Africans so I am so happy to be contributing even more to this amazing animation series and I hope it’s the first of many exciting projects from Disney+ that shines a light on Africa and its talent,” she said.

Other local celebrities lending their voices to the project include Pearl Thusi, Nasty C, Tumi Morake, Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Lillian Dube, Gigi Lamayne, Candice Modiselle, and more.

It will debut globally on 5 July.
