Channel disputes Shudu and Ndavi were divas on ‘Queen Modjadji’

After the premiere of Queen Modjadji, reports have surfaced that two of the actresses who are beauty pageant queens were difficult to work with.

Diva tendencies

According to media reports former Miss South Africa winner, Shudufhadzo Musida and Ndavi Nokeri, ruined their chances of becoming part of Queen Modjadji for a longer period of time because of diva tendencies.

The drama series is told in the Khelobedu dialect. And the cast was selected on the basis that they closely portray the historic figures that form a significant part of the story.

The two are alleged to have expected beauty pageant treatment on set and also wanted the spotlight to be solely shone on them.

Sunday World reached out to the Mzansi Magic team on these allegations and reports which have surfaced.

Pleasant to work with

“Shudufhadzo Musida and Ndavi Nokeri were pleasant on set and bonded very well with the cast and crew of Queen Modjadji,” said Mzansi Magic.

The channel also added that the two beauty queens who were not present at the premiere of the drama series on Thursday last week, had other commitments and there was no indication that they would be present.

Former Miss South Africa was said to be making her acting debut on the show as she would play Muthanoni Mulalo, one of the king’s wives from the Vhavenda royal family.

Ndavi Nokeri, who was crowned Miss SA 2022, was said to portray the role of Muthanoni Khensani, another one of the king’s wives from the Vatsonga royal family.

Queen Modjadji aired its first episode on Sunday leaving some viewers impressed and some expressing that they are going to give it a chance, although they constantly have to read subtitles.
