South African rappers proudly walked the Hip-Hop recognition stage on Tuesday as they were being awarded for all the work they have produced throughout the year.
The SA Hip Hop awards (SAHHA) were hosted at the Lyric, Gold Reef City in Johannesburg.
Among the biggest winners for the night was Ntokozo “K.O” Mdluli who scooped three awards for his hit song SETE. The song won Best Video award, Best Collaboration and Song of the year award.
Other winners include Gigi Lamayne who won Best Female, Priddy Ugly walked away with Lyricist of the year award, while Blxckie received an award for digital sales.
Priddy Ugly’s wife and dancer Bontle Modiselle took to Instagram to congratulate her husband.
“Congratulations to the SA Hip Hop awards Lyricist of the year. A very well deserved win! I’m incredibly proud of you,” she wrote.
International rapper Kendrick Lamar won the Best International Act.
