Supta Team 4 is about four unsuspecting schoolgirls who think they are on their way to detention, but instead a fantastical adventure awaits them as they shed their school uniforms and transform into magnificent superheroes.
Up against devious villains, the fierce foursome find themselves at the centre of an epic battle to save their beloved city, Lusaka. With luck and an unbreakable friendship, the girls balance superhero duties, doing chores, and finishing their homework.Â
The series is created by Zambian writer Malenga Mulendema in partnership with South African animation studio Triggerfish and London-based kids’ entertainment specialist CAKE as producers, with animation from Superprod Animation in France.
Supa Team 4, which is an eight-part series celebrating Africa’s dynamic storytelling, will air on Netflix on July 20.Â
Linda Sokhulu, Namisa Mdlalose, Nancy Sekhokoane, and Sparky Xulu also feature in the action-filled animation.
International voice actors John MacMillan and Kimani Arthur complete the impressive talent line-up.
