Lerato Mbele takes back the power on Power FM

Renowned journalist and broadcaster Lerato Mbele has joined Joburg-based Power FM as the host of the mid-morning talk show Power Talk.

On Wednesday, Mbele took to social media to share her excitement, saying she was looking forward to a new chapter in her life. The talk show will air from March 28 between 9am-12pm.

Mbele shared that the show will seek to connect the dots of humanity while trying to offer solutions. “Our aim is to connect the dots of humanity, as we remind South Africans of our connection to the world and also learn from the rest of the world,” she wrote.

Her colourful career in journalism began in 1999 at the SABC. Mbele later served as an anchor for the broadcaster’s daily news show News at 10 and also fronted the weekly show The Ambassadors.

Currently, Mbele works for the BBC where she presents Talking Business Africa for the network.
