Mabotja reunites with past guests in ‘Unpacked’ second edition

Unpacked, a show that looks into human interest and purpose-driven stories, is back for the second edition.

Produced and presented by actress and radio personality Relebogile Mabotja, the show is expected to air on YouTube on Thursday.

Memorable guests

According to Mabotja, the first edition birthed Unpacked: The Second Chapter, which is a spin-off series that revisits and sinks deeper into some of the most memorable guests who shared vulnerable accounts of their lives.

Among guests featured in the first edition of the show is bogus medical doctor Matthew Lani, Mari van Heerdan, a black woman who identifies as white, an intricate exploration of identity and the boundless nuances of the human experience, and Seleke Ramatlotlo, a man who raised a child for four years and later discovered that the child was not his, biologically.

In a statement, Mabotja said her mission for the second edition of the show is to reunite with the people whose souls were once laid bare on the canvas of vulnerability.

“These are the individuals who, with unwavering authenticity, bared their hearts and divulged their most intimate accounts of existence,” she said.

“In Unpacked: The Second Chapter, the past converges seamlessly with the present, a masterful orchestration to revive those genuine and impactful stories that had once etched themselves into the very core of our collective consciousness.”

13-part pilot season

She said the 13-part pilot season will also touch on the relentless pursuit of truth and the intricate dynamics of parenthood.

“The viewers spoke and we listened, so we decided why not bring you a second chapter where we catch up with some of the memorable guests.

“Their stories have etched marks, and viewers shall discover the riveting sequel to the tales that captivated them from all corners of the country.

“Be sure to subscribe to Relebogile Mabotja on YouTube, where the authentic and vulnerable accounts of the guests’ lives will air twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays at 5.30pm.”
