Fashion designer Siphosihle Masango, also referred to as Sihle The Designer, says that he has filed an assault case against Andzelo Tivani, his former lover.
Masango took to social media on Monday to share pictures of himself dripping in blood. Tivani is popularly known as Faith Nketsi’s personal assistant and best friend.
Masango and Tivani, the long-estranged couple, were once in a relationship, but Masango told Sunday World that it ended earlier this month.
Suspicions of cheating
Masango said in an interview with Sunday World that he thought Tivani’s belief that he was seeing a particular person was the reason behind the attack.
“He lost his mind when I told him that I was not dating that certain individual, and he still proceeded to attack me,” said Masango.
Tivani is said to have had physical altercations with the designer previously, having strangled Masango at a nightclub.
“I forgave him because I loved him and didn’t think it would happen again or escalate to something so drastic,” Masango said.
“When he first strangled me at the club, I couldn’t believe it. He doesn’t want to let me go, and I have had enough.” said Masango.
Masango stated on his Instagram stories that he now understands why victims of gender-based violence choose to remain silent.
I do not want to be a statistic
“I can’t believe that this guy really tried to kill me; he came to my house with a weapon and attacked me.
“He is a sick man, and he needs help. I have never been violent with anyone. I was also in shock when this happened – nine stitches. I do not want to be a statistic or to be asked why I didn’t say anything.”

Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi confirmed that a common assault case was opened for further investigations, but no one has been arrested.
