Former Muvhango actress and businesswoman Phindile Gwala has bagged a Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurship degree.
She graduated on the same day as DJ Chumymusique’s father and businessman-turned-politician, Sbu Mpisane’s daughter, Nosipho Boitumelo, who received her qualification in Bcom Honours in Marketing Management.
Gwala, who has been off the radar for most of the previous two years, graduated from Mancosa, a premier private higher education institution in South Africa.
The businesswoman said she was proud of herself.
Hard work pays off
“I am proud to say that hard work and dedication have paid off. I am grateful for the unwavering support I received from my family, friends, and lecturers,” she said.
“Their encouragement and guidance kept me going, even when things got tough. I couldn’t have achieved this milestone without their help, and I am eager to make them proud in the future.”
She said she was looking forward to exploring what the future holds for her “with her new qualification”.
“I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead,” Gwala said, revealing that she graduated with 10 distinctions.
“This has been a long road. For the milestone achieved, I am grateful and to God be the glory, for His mercies endure forever.
“Today I am a Bachelor of Commerce graduate with 10 distinctions.”
Friends, family gather to celebrate
Gwala’s close friends and family were with her as she celebrated her special day.
Clad in a red lace tutu dress, Gwala radiated in snaps taken just before she collected her qualification on stage.
She is a seasoned actress with popular roles such as Nonny on Muvhango and Fikile on Imbewu: The Seed.
She took time off the small screen to pursue her other interests, which included running her shisanyama business with her husband, Armando Ngandu.
