J’Something ventures into inspirational soul and RnB genre

Joao da Fonseca, popularly known by his stage name J’Something, has released a single titled Not Alone.

In the single J’Something, who is the lead singer for Mi Casa, moves away from the band’s house background and ventures into an inspirational soul and RnB genre.

He said he wrote the single in 2019 and has never intended to release the song.

“It’s a song I actually wrote for myself, to remind myself how even though at times I may feel alone, I do have a very real connection between body and spirit,” he said.

“In 2019, I embarked on a new journey where I decided to try my best to ‘unbox’ myself from and allow myself the freedom to explore my one life, one day at a time.”

He said the song is not part of any specific religion but rather around something that religion so beautifully teaches the world.

It is the idea that we all have a spiritual connection to a higher power and he hopes the song lands on fertile soil.

Meanwhile, Mi Casa will kick off the band’s European tour in August and the excitement is building up among fans.

Most of the countries that the band will tour are among top 10 places streaming its music.

Germany, the UK, where the band will start its European tour, Netherlands, France and Spain are all top 10 countries closely following Mi Casa’s music.

Phiona Okumu, Spotify’s head of music in sub-Saharan Africa, said: “We’ve experienced J’Something’s artistry as a part of Mi Casa but with Not Alone, he seems to be reinventing his sound with something different from what we would usually expect from him.

“We are proud to stand behind this single at Spotify and bring it to our listeners.”
