Popular South African YouTuber Leon Gumede has broken his silence in a heated social media outburst, addressing claims made by his ex-girlfriend and fellow content creator Thuli Dlamuka.
The comedic duo, once celebrated for their joint skits, parted ways nearly four years ago, but recent interviews by Dlamuka mentioning Gumede have reignited tensions.
On Sunday, Gumede took to his social media platforms to set the record straight, accusing Dlamuka of dragging his name through the mud.
“She is the one who called me after we broke up, and I ignored her,” he wrote, claiming to have screenshots and voice recordings as evidence.
Gumede alleged Dlamuka cheated during their relationship, a claim that has sent shockwaves through their fanbase.
“I have been quiet for too long,” Gumede stated, adding that he is tired of Dlamuka’s public references to him.
He revealed that he has escalated the matter to the police, though he did not disclose the nature of the complaint.
Financial disputes
The YouTuber also addressed financial disputes, responding to Dlamuka’s apparent demands for payment for their collaborative work.
“If she wants to be paid, she must send an invoice. I will send one too for what she owes me,” he fired back.
The couple’s 2021 break-up was confirmed via Dlamuka’s Instagram Live, where she declared that she was ready to move on, dismissing the relationship as rubbish.
Fans, who adored their chemistry in videos amassing millions of views, were heartbroken.
Dlamuka, also known for her role as Owami in Durban Gen, has since focused on her acting career and hair business, while Gumede continues producing comedy skits.
Neither party has provided further comment, and Dlamuka has yet to respond to Gumede’s allegations.
