More woes as Sir Trill’s song is removed from streaming platforms

Amapiano artist and producer Tumelo Zwane, popularly known as Sir Trill, is far from catching a break after it was revealed that his latest single with Heavy K was removed from streaming platforms.

A couple of weeks ago Sir Trill released a single with Heavy K titled Kwenzakalani. The song  is said to have now been removed from streaming platforms. This info was shared by Heavy K on social media on Monday.

“Kwenzakalani has been taken down. My apologies to the fans. But we got news myself and @SIR_TRILLSA are dropping new music on Friday,” wrote Heavy K.

‘Grootman’ not paying for music

The song’s removal comes after Sir Trill went on L-Tido’s podcast last week to speak about his struggles in the industry. He revealed how a certain grootman (older brother) keeps sabotaging him and has not been paying him for his music.

After being trolled on social media for being the grootman, DJ Maphorisa clapped back with receipts. He claimed that he was not the one being referred to on the podcast.

Maphorisa also added that Sir Trill deserves everything coming to him. This because he has a bad reputation for not pitching up to gigs.

Breaking down on social media

Sir Trill went on the L-Tido podcast months after he broke down on an Instagram live. He tearfully spoke about the struggles that he is currently facing in the music industry.

The amapiano producer poured his heart out on social media at the time. He said some artists have refused to work with him. This is despite him jumping on their albums and giving them the most popular songs.

“Every time I drop new music, someone mutes it,” he said.

He also spoke about the gatekeepers in the amapiano music genre, claiming that they have tried to sabotage his music.

According to Sir Trill, the reason he has not been putting out a lot of music lately is because he feels discouraged.

“I just got discouraged because I come into the game with a pure heart. [Because] I’m trying to help everybody.”
