South African award-winning actress Nambitha Ben-Mazwi has celebrated reaching her seven-year milestone in the entertainment industry.
On Wednesday, Ben-Mazwi, who played the role of Linda Bhengu on a Netflix series Savage Beauty, took to Instagram to share her journey.
She said she left her corporate job that she had worked hard to get because she wanted to be a full-time storyteller.
“This month, seven years ago, I made the bold leap of faith, to relentlessly pursue my calling of being a storyteller full-time,” she shared.
“I left all I knew behind, including the business science corporate world I had worked so hard to be entrenched in. I knew God had a different purpose in me, the purpose of showcasing truth in ourselves.”
The actress, who won the Feathers Hottest Chick of the Year award, said she has never done career anniversaries.
“However after my meeting last night with my US/UK management, I am reminded to take stock of my journey and growth, as I continue to step into a new phase in my career.
“Thank you to every person who has helped me with self tapes, directors, cast mates, producers, channels, crew, viewers, church, family, and friends. It hasn’t been an easy road, but damn has it been worth it.”
