Fans almost spilled their beer when popular musician Kharishma showed up on stage heavily pregnant during a show in Bolobedu at the weekend.
The rising star, who is a sought-after musician following the release of her latest singles Sekoloto and Matome, shocked fans during her performance as she appeared to be a few months into her pregnancy.
In a 34-second clip of her performance, which was shared on Facebook, 23-year-old Kharishma, born Melita Mogale, can be seen in a baggy Nike T-shirt with black leggings.
Throughout her performance she appears to be uncomfortable and can be seen leaning forward and often kneeling down as fans looked on and took videos while others shook their heads.
At the end of the clip, the singer seems to be struggling with a dance routine, as her two dancers continue strutting their stuff while glancing at her.
Although concerned fans took to social media to plead that she takes time off from performing during the peak summer season, the muso vowed to continue.
She is booked to headline the Limpopo Legends Awards (Lila) gig in November.
Lila awards organiser Mphoza Mashabela said he is in contact with Kharishma’s management and they are in full support of the rising star.
“As Limpopo Legends Awards organiser, we are looking forward to hosting Kharishma. She will be sharing the stage with King Monada, Pleasure, and Blaq Diamond, among others,” said Mashabela.
“As the show organiser and Limpopo Artists Movement provincial chairperson, we support Kharishma and we like to appeal to Limpopo people to continue supporting her career.
“We are disturbed by people on social media platforms attacking her and speculating that she is pregnant. As the industry, we will keep on supporting her no matter what.”
The awards are scheduled to take place at Jack Botes Hall in Polokwane on November 4.
The muso was not available to comment. When contacted for comment, her manager Malope Malete promised to comment but had not done so at the time of publishing.
