Proud DJ Zinhle, Murdah Bongz shower Kairo with praises

Musicians DJ Zinhle and her husband Murdah Bongz have congratulated their daughter Kairo Forbes on her latest win.

Kairo bagged an award for Social Media Kid Influencer of The Year at the third annual South African Social Media Awards.

The accolade is dedicated to young and dynamic influencers under the age of 18 who have been relentlessly shaping their presence on social media platforms.

Kairo is the daughter of DJ Zinhle, born Zinhle Jiyane, and the late iconic rapper AKA. Murdah Bongz, born Bongani Mahosana, took over as a father figure to the girl after the couple tied the knot.

At just eight-years old, Kairo has managed to influence social media as a child. She has over 1.4-million followers on Instagram, having secured a verified badge before her fourth birthday.

Mogul in the making

The young mogul in the making has her own watch brand and jewellery line, and is considered one of South Africa’s most bankable children.

She has been on several magazine covers and social media trends, and brands love to associate with her.

She has done campaigns for the likes of Nedbank, Truworths, Cotton On, Lifebouy, Disney, Nivea and Danone.

Kairo was at the awards ceremony with her grandmother Lynn Forbes on Sunday and she expressed her gratitude to her family.

“Thank you to mom, dad, and my family for all your love and support, and to everyone who voted for me, especially The Megacy,” she said.

“Thank you to the South African Social Media Awards and Canon SA for honouring me with this award.”

Taking to social media, both Murdah Bongz and DJ Zinhle congratulated their daughter for the award.

“This looks familiar. Proud of you @kairo.forbes, well done and well-deserved,” wrote Murdah Bongz.

DJ Zinhle, who is currently on holiday in Phuket in Thailand, also expressed how proud she is of her daughter for winning the award.

“So happy for you. You make me so proud,” she wrote.
