Top lawyer rejects Euphonik’s polygamy plan with 3 women

DJ Euphonik’s baby mama has painted a jaw-dropping picture of how she bolted out of the polygamist artist’s harem after begrudgingly agreeing to be his second wife.

The baby mama, a qualified lawyer, who is heading a legal unit of a top firm in Joburg, said she kicked Euphonik, born Themba Nkosi, to the kerb after learning from a journalist that he was tying the knot with another woman as his third wife.

Before that, she complained of Euphonik philandering after she was confronted, in the artist’s house, by an unknown belle who introduced herself as Euphonik’s significant other.

The startling news is contained in the affidavit she filed in the Joburg high court, where the two former lovebirds are facing off over their children.

In the affidavit, which we have seen, the baby mama, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said she met Euphonik at an event in KwaZulu-Natal, where he was performing. They established a serious relationship in 2014 going into 2015.

She said she moved in with him in his home, which was then in Jukskei Park, Randburg, after he had told her that he had sired a child with another woman. She later learnt the woman was his first wife, after he had lied to her that they had broken up.

“In the first six months of our relationship, I was confronted at his/our house by a woman (name withheld), who purported to be his girlfriend.

“He denied involvement with her and arranged for her to be escorted out,” she said.

She said Euphonik paid lobola for her in June 2016 when she was already pregnant with their first child.

The second lobola payment, she stated, was made on October 8,  2016. She said when she returned to work after accouchement leave, she received a call from Euphonik’s first wife, who said she and the music producer did not break up.

“When she telephoned me at home and spoke direct to Themba, in my presence, he aggressively and repeatedly denied this,” she said in the affidavit.

She said the last lobola payment was made on August 19, 2017, but they did not complete the marriage because of Euphonik’s shenanigans.

She said when she was two months pregnant with their second child, Euphonik’s first wife, moved from KwaZulu-Natal to their other home in Westdene,
Johannesburg.

She said she later discovered that his first wife was also carrying Euphonik’s precious cargo when she came to their home to pick her child, who was staying with them.

“When I confronted Themba, he denied it was his child. Soon, however, it became evident to me that Themba still had a relationship with (name withheld) and I broke up with him.

“Themba continued to pursue me and assured me there was a future for us. He then proposed the solution of a polygamous marriage for the sake of the children, and asked me to take him back on my terms and conditions, to establish a combined  family,” she said in the affidavit.

She said a few months after the birth of their second child, Euphonik convened a family meeting and invited his first wife, where he raised the question of a polygamous marriage.

“I still loved him, and I did see his point about the children, especially because I now had two children [with him] and did not want to raise them as a single mother. So I agreed to try again. At some stage around this time, I found out that she (name withheld) was pregnant with her third child, which Themba contended to not know about,” reads the affidavit.

She said after the meeting Euphonik made his best efforts to equalise things between her and his first wife when he bought them two luxury Mini Cooper vehicles.

She said after some time, Euphonik shared with them a draft high court application which was prepared by his attorney for their polygamous marriage.

“There were number of other events in between which led to delays in some of the terms and conditions which I had insisted be implemented if I was going to agree to the combined family. Some of the issues which arose were other affairs/relationships with women in which Themba was involved,” she said in the affidavit.

She said she dumped him like a hot potato when she discovered that Euphonik was walking the aisle with another woman as his third wife in 2021 without her knowledge.

This after she received a call from a journalist asking for comment about Euphonik taking another woman as his third wife.

“Themba had on previous occasion indicated he would be the one to leave the house if he cheated again but he left for only two days before he returned, contending that it is his house,” she said.

She said as a result of that she vacated the property and moved into her own property with their children.

She said in July 22 last year, Euphonik sent a letter to her family, saying “he wants his children and his makoti back”.

“My family responded to this on September 28 asking for a date for their delegations to meet to finally discuss concluding the separation issues, but nothing has come of this,” reads her affidavit.
