‘Traumatic experiences are not new to me’- Britney Spears

American singer Britney Spears has broken her silence after media reports surfaced of her being allegedly slapped by a member of an NBA player’s security team on Wednesday.

The incident took place in Las Vegas when Britney walked up to Victor Wembanyama and tapped him on the back to ask for a photo. Victor’s security was being mobbed with fans and he (the security guard) turned around trying to push Britney aside and hit her in the face, knocking off her glasses.

Britney at the time was with her husband, Sam Asghari, and a member of her security team when the incident transpired.

Taking to social media on Thursday Britney said traumatic experiences such as the current one are not new to her and she has had her fair share of them.

“I was not prepared for what happened to me last night. I recognized an athlete in my hotel lobby as I was heading to dinner. I later went to a restaurant at a different hotel and saw him again.”

The 41-year-old singer said she decided to approach Wembanyama and congratulate him on his success, but it was noisy she decided to tap him on his back.

“I get swarmed by people all the time, in fact, that night I was swarmed by a group of at least 20 fans, but my security didn’t hit any of them,” she wrote.

Details of the police report and whether or not the singer is seeking criminal charges have not been revealed.
