American actor, playwright, and entrepreneur Tyler Perry has shown interest in buying one of Africa’s leading black entertainment channels, BET.
According to media reports Perry is interested in buying a big slice to become the television network’s owner. Two sources said Paramount Global, looks to bring on a substantial partner.
Byron Allen, who is a Los Angeles media mogul, also showed interest in having a stake in BET after hearing the news of Perry’s interest.
Allen’s spokesperson on Monday confirmed the moguls’ interest in buying and said he would be pursuing the acquisition of the network.
