Rikhotso is a self-taught visual artist who is also an entrepreneur with a vision to contribute to the world through his art. In 2021, Rikhotso founded Faneloeuville Arts, under which he produces his artwork and other creative material. He studied Entrepreneurship and Business Development and Intellectual Property to improve his craft and business. Describing himself as a contemporary visual artist, Rikhotso believes that being an artist is a gift. His work reflects his remarkable talent, creativity and a deep passion for art. He believes there’s a lot to learn through visual art. In addition to creating economic value, art has the social function of connecting people and reflecting reality. Rikhotso says advancement in technology has made it easier for artists to connect with the global community, enhancing access to international markets and human engagement. Assessing the arts and culture space since the dawn of democracy, Rikhotso calls for focused measures to grow the sector. “There needs to be intentional investment in appropriate infrastructure, education and market. Access and support with the right pillars to enable development and investment. I believe our country would reap the rewards for not only the identification and utilisation of talent but also breaking new grounds for economic growth.”
