CEO – AGA Talent
Mohau Mbangela is the founder and CEO of AGA Talent, an AI-powered job platform connecting construction professionals in Africa with career opportunities. Passionate about leveraging tech to optimise human potential, Mbangela also founded Thuto AI, an AI-powered tutoring platform that seeks to redefine mathematics education. The tech startup was selected for the prestigious Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme out of over 150 000 applicants across the African continent. Mbangela holds that the past 30 years of freedom have demonstrated great scientific and innovative potential among young South Africans, elaborating that young people have already started developing solutions using technologies like AI, robotics, renewable energy and more to solve local challenges. However, technology remains a privilege for the minority. “Many youths still lack access to quality STEM education, resources, mentors and networks to turn their ideas into reality. We need increased investments into STEM infrastructure and curriculum development across schools, especially in disadvantaged communities.” A key player in techpreneurship, Mbangela has been recognised as one of Africa's Top 50 Most Impactful Young Leaders by Global Changemakers for his work driving positive change across Africa and was nominated as the Most Promising Founder and Techpreneur of the Year (Under 30) in Southern Africa by FOYA Africa.
