More info:

Tina Mgidlana is a chartered accountant, registered with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) and founder of Fundanam.  Fundanam is a project that provides career guidance, upliftment, and strategic direction to assist female high school students. The project is a way of giving someone who has limited resources support to ensure that they can progress in life. “The aim for me is to invest in young women and provide them with opportunities to enable them to work towards a brighter future,” she expresses. Mgidlana is a seasoned financial professional who graduated from the Middle Management Development Program facilitated by Duke Corporate Education in partnership with IWFSA, Duke Corporation and Fasset. A force in her field, she was also selected to form part of the Young Leaders Connect mentorship programme for the 2024 financial year, and chosen by SAICA to be a mentor. Mgidlana believes entrepreneurship is a potent tool that should be used to gain access to income. “It has been proven with statistics that 30% of the country's labour force is unemployed. The cause of unemployment is a lack of education, limited entrepreneurship, and a mismatch in the demand and supply of labour. Statistics have further proven that the youth make up the majority of the unemployed,” she explains. “I’d like to further emphasise the importance of innovation-driven projects. By concentrating on innovation, we can create jobs, stimulate economic growth, and solve some of the country’s urgent problems.”
