More info:

Megan Angus, a marketing and advertising graduate from Arlington, a farming town in the Free State, is playing a big part in the farming industry. Angus heads the marketing department of Woodview Gourmet Foods, a farming business that her family started decades ago.  When she joined Woodview Gourmet Foods, she became the fourth-generation youngster to be part of the family business that specialises in breeding Angus cattle. What’s more, her father, Brian Angus, has helped pioneer the local breeding of the Japanese Wagyu cattle.  She says initially the business only sold cattle and not beef. However, when she joined the business in 2013, the family decided to sell wagyu beef as well.   “Success gives me motivation to do better. We trade locally and internationally and supplying the best beef is our main focus,” says Angus, who describes herself as a farm girl at heart. She also believes women are level-headed when it comes to business welfare, and they make decisions not only to benefit the business but that which will uplift communities.  “I meet a lot of young people in need of mentorship, this alone shows that many young women are considering farming as a career,” says Angus. She says as being one of the few wagyu beef suppliers, she has learned to trust the process and build good relationships with customers.
