Pebble Thabile Hlubi is the managing director of Kaleidoscope Pivot (KCP), an information and communications technology (ICT) company that cultivates skills in young people. The organization conducts bootcamp programmes, develops curricula, coaches talent and fosters partnerships with software development at the core. KCP also believes in what it calls “local sourcing” or “bringing back software projects to South Africa and effecting gender and equity transformation”. With more than 10 years in the ICT industry in both the network infrastructure and software development sector, Hlubi is also a motivational speaker. Her advice to young women seeking to enter the ICT industry: “Be authentic and focus on your growth and plans. Do not aim to be somebody else or live their life because you don’t know how they got where they are.” Hlubi strongly believes in social entrepreneurship and improving the lives of young people. Being a spiritual person, her two favourite Bible verses are: “Fear not, for I am with you” and “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not harm you.”
