Zeenat Isaacs, a 37-year-old multiple-award-winning activist from Mitchells Plain, Western Cape, has identified sports as a powerful tool to combat crime, drugs and gangsterism in her community, a township outside Cape Town known for its violence and social challenges. She also facilitates an after-school programme where she promotes literacy among young children.

Isaacs’ influence and contributions have been recognised with awards from the City of Cape Town, the Global Recognition Award, and the Dear SA Young Leaders Award. She is currently nominated for several prestigious honours, including the Forty Under 40 Award in Community Development, the African International She Innovates Award and the FOYA Award.

In addition to her work in sports, Isaacs is responsible for the growth and development of various activities, including yoga and arts, and has assisted many young and older South Africans in securing international scholarships to study in the USA and France.

Isaacs is actively involved in numerous community upliftment initiatives, ranging from youth development and sustainable environment efforts to empowerment, employment, education, and arts, impacting over 10 000 individuals.
