In the circus of SA politics, Shwa notices that irony is lost on no one, especially DA leader John Steenhuisen.
In a recent social media statement, Steenhuisen declared he has “noted certain attempts, at this critical time for SA’s future, to inject racial hatred, division, and enmity. The DA will do and say nothing to polarise our people and country.” If only the internet had a memory of a goldfish, this statement might have flown under the radar.
Let’s rewind to July 2021. During the unrest in Phoenix, KwaZulu-Natal, the DA put up posters hailing vigilantes who targeted black people as “heroes”. And Steenhuisen himself has labelled a predominantly black party as “enemy number 1.” This flip-flopping is hilarious.
