No, it appears that the voters have assumed the role of political puppet masters, leaving the poor ANC to merely obey. Somehow, despite there being no GNU option on the ballot, the voters managed to will it into existence.
Meanwhile, in an alternate universe where President Cyril Ramaphosa actually spearheaded this initiative, he seems to be the unsung hero of this drama.
