Mbalula’s rent-a-crowd scheme a blot on integrity
ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula “allegedly” bought a couple of EFF T-shirts for a crowd he rented to pull an election campaign stunt last weekend, making it seem like those folks dumped the red berets for the ANC.
Some of these fake battalions are kids, who seem to be below the voting age. Imagine being caught on camera embarrassing your sorry behind and dragging the whole organisation with you.
How desperate can one be to stoop this low? As if having the president going door-to-door handing out the party’s T-shirts in exchange for votes while pretending to care is not enough form of embarrassment.
Why not use that money to help save the party from its financial woes since there is more where it came from.
The ANC should not even be campaigning, as a party that has been in the government since the dawn of democracy – its work should be speaking for itself.
But despite being the governing party, they are busy competing with the opposition.
The only viable campaign for a governing party should be its service delivery records, and the ANC comes short on all fronts.
