Riri’s products have shaken up beauty industry

Rihanna’s brainchild Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin celebrated its first anniversary, since launching in eight African countries last Thursday.

Being a good friend of Riri, Shwa was invited to the anniversary celebration that took place in downtown Johannesburg at Maboneng precinct.

The event was hosted at the hub of creativity and culture Arts on Main, dubbed the Fenty Stop. The brand took the entrance with a striking image of the founder, Rihanna, as well as images of its iconic products.

Shwa has no doubt that Fenty Beauty has shaken up the beauty world and even beyond, starting new conversations about beauty standards and expectations. If Shwa remembers correctly, Riri had promised to come to South Africa this time around because when the launch took place she had just given birth. Little did she know that a year later she would be pregnant again.

Back to the event, which was overflowing with mega influencers, rising social stars and celebrities… just a quick question to these people, why do some of you act so fake and refuse to interact with each other. You’re so big on interaction on the socials, but dololo in real life.

Moi had a heart to heart with former Big Brother Mzansi contestant Naledi Mogadime, who told Shwa what she has been getting up to since she left the house. I’m glad to see that you’re living your life away from busy Joburg and minding your own business in Cape Town.

Lootlove and Nhlanhla Mafu, Shwa just wants to commend you ladies for being such free-spirited souls, stay humble and you’ll go very far in life.

Reality Star Mrs Mops looked rather lost at the event. Also, Shwa is curious, how’s the tension between you and the Real Housewives of Johannesburg (RHOJ) ladies. Shwa didn’t see you greeting Lebo Mokoena and Lethabo Lejoy. Are there some unresolved issues?

Aibo LeJoy, Shwa spotted your new beast that you are driving, baby girl is raking in the money, not only did you go for a Brazillian Butt Lift (BBL), but you got yourself a new whip too, love it for you.

I wish someone had called the fashion police on Whitney because the duvet cover she was wearing, was “not make sure”.

Did she not perhaps get the memo of the day?

Linda Mtoba, could you kindly give some advice to some of your fellow industry friends and foes, on how to look pretty and mind your own business.

To this day Shwa has no idea what your husband looks like and Mtoba is never in the news for wrong reasons.

While we danced away to DJ Lamiez’s set we were treated to an incredible afternoon of product discovery.

Shwa also spotted Tshepi Vundla, Omuhle Gela, K Naomi, Londie London, Phupho Gumede and Mongezi Mkhonto.
