Trust keyboard activist to fix an age-old, problem neh, sis Yvonne?
After the Princess of Africa, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, bemoaned the fact that she was not credited as one of the producers of her hit song Umqombothi, a Wikipedia user fixed the 37-year-old injustice. Chaka Chaka told Newzroom Afrika that she was not credited as one of the producers of her hit song despite Umqombothi, despite adding the “Nawu! Nawu! Madoda and Everybody” parts of the song. Only Chicco Twala and Attie van Wyk are listed as producers, robbing her off a mention and the royalties that come with that.
Well, Wiki can’t help with royalties, but trust one of the users to edit the error. Not only that but cite Chaka Chaka first as one of the writers of Umqombothi before Chicco Twala and completely wipe off Van Wyk of any role in the song.
“Thank you, Wiki user for crediting me in my song. Thank you, thank you. I love you so much,” should be the remix to another of Chaka’s famous songs.
