Kaizer Chiefs midfield dynamo Khama Billiat has filed for an interim protection order against his allegedly abusive baby mama at the Randburg magistrate’s court following threats to kill him.
The court also issued a warrant of arrest against the disputed babymama, who cannot be named for legal reasons, but its execution was suspended on condition that she didn’t violate the restraint order.
On Tuesday, Billiat went to court accompanied by his wife and claimed the mother of his alleged love child was harassing them and that they feared for their lives.
He believes that she is behind the false media reports that he was stabbed. “She is very violent and aggressive [in her bid] to destroy me. My family is not at peace at home, they are afraid to go out.
I’m also afraid to go work because we are always followed by unknown people. I was threat-ened with death and my family is suffering from depression,” Billiat told the court.
The court issued a warrant of arrest against the player’s baby mama, whose name is known to this publication, but its execution was suspended on condition that she doesn’t violate the restraining order.
The Sunday World team, present at the time when the order was handed over to the 22-year-old, saw the woman’s eyes well up as the baby mama asked the player why he called the cops on her.
“You called the police on me. You actually get a protection order on me. Do you understand what you are doing, Khama? Why are you doing this?” she asked. Billiat said he “wanted to do the right thing”.
The young woman had been camping outside the player’s home in Midrand for more than five hours when she was shocked by the arrival of the police who handed her the legal documents.
Billiat told the court that unknown people have been following him, his 28-year-old wife and 10-year-old daughter since last year.
“They are suffering from depression [brought on by the fact] that threats were made to them that they will be sorted out when I get killed. They are also afraid to go [out] in public because they are always followed by unknown people. Whenever they go out, my daughter cries when she sees people following [them],” read the papers.
Billiat told the court that he met the woman in December 2018 and she confronted him a t Kaizer Chiefs’s Naturena training ground last year with a fivemonth-old baby she claimed was his.
“She accused me of impregnating her. I said to her I want a paternity test. She got upset and threatened to kill me and tarnish my name through all social media platforms.
“She then demanded money from me. I said let’s go to do the paternity test, she refused and ran away, but kept demanding money [and threatened] that she will go to social media like she did before, when she told a lot of lies about me,” read the court papers.
According to the soccer star, he thought if he gave her what she wanted, she would leave him alone.
