It is business as usual for record label boss DJ Tira amid allegations of sexual assault levelled against him this week.
DJ Tira, born
Mthokozisi Khathi, has remained mum after an up-and-coming musician made staggering claims that she woke up in the music mogul’s bed after she blacked out.
After DJ Tira refused to explain what happened to her during the night, Luke Ntombela, a musician from KwaZulu-Natal, suggested that he might have sexually assaulted her.
She said she has been diagnosed with depression, suffered humiliation, and is still struggling to get closure about what happened.
In posts that she shared on her Facebook and Twitter accounts on Tuesday, Ntombela, who met the DJ on the set of the Mzansi Magic show Clash of the Choirs, wrote that the married DJ tried to ask her out, but she turned him down.
Social media posts
She also tagged DJ Tira in her posts, demanding answers.
“I hear you saying this and that about witchcraft; how do you explain the pain of waking up in someone’s bed when you’re blacked out? That person continues touching you as if you are lovers.
“I’m giving you one last chance to explain to me: what really happened on that day where I ended up in your bed?
“You know that I had blacked out, but you continued touching me inappropriately as if we were dating,” she wrote.
Ntombela’s post was accompanied by screenshots of WhatsApp conversations, presumably between herself and DJ Tira, where he is not denying anything but insists on meeting with her.
Attempts to reach DJ Tira for a comment were ignored this week. He has not released a statement to respond to the allegations.
Business as usual
However, a day after Ntombela’s revelation, DJ Tira seemed to be continuing with business as usual.
He was spotted at an IFP election campaign event in Ladysmith, uThukela, in KwaZulu-Natal.
He has also started preparing for his popular
Afrotainment marquee at the Durban July, a popular horseracing event held annually in July.
DJ Tira has announced that tables for his marquee range from R20 000 for four seats, R55 000 for 10 seats in the VIP area, and R70 000 for 10 seats in the VIP lounge.
