Dumisani Zuma’s Chiefs contract terminated after numerous suspensions

Kaizer Chiefs’ attacking midfielder Dumisani Zuma’s contract has been terminated with immediate effect.

This comes after Zuma appeared before the club’s disciplinary council.

The club announced the news on Thursday.

In November 2021 Sunday World reported that the 27-year-old was arrest for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.

Zuma was sent for rehab and counselling after numerous suspensions.

“Since joining from Bloemfontein Celtic in 2017, he has been suspended a number of times, including twice in one season. He was also sent to rehab and counselling in the season that just ended. Over five seasons, he played 100 matches with 25 starts, 75 as a substitute and scored 13 goals,” said the team on its social media account.

“This follows his latest appearance in front of the DC, which resulted in his dismissal as recommended by an independent authority. The 27-year-old only featured three times in 2021/22 for Chiefs. We wish Dumi well in the future.”

On Wednesday, Amakhosi announced a list of players that they were letting go of including, Samir Nurkovic, Lazarous Kambole, Lebogang Manyama, and Daniel Cardoso.
