Eusebius McKaiser to be buried in Grahamstown on Saturday

Acclaimed author, broadcaster and journalist Eusebius McKaizer will be buried at The Settlers Monument in Makhanda, Grahamstown on Saturday.

His funeral service will start at 9am, the family said in a statement, adding that the funeral will be open to the public, but advised that capacity will be limited.

The funeral proceedings will also be livestreamed on YouTube.

On Tuesday, friends, family, and colleagues remembered McKaiser for more than his views at a memorial service held in Parktown, Johannesburg.

During the service, it was revealed that McKaiser was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2008 and had endured multiple hospital stays as a result.

He did not share his medical condition with the public because he wanted to be treated normally, said one of the speakers who shared a close friendship with McKaiser.

Mckaiser, who celebrated his 44th birthday in March, died suddenly last Tuesday due to a suspected epileptic seizure.
