The spark in media personality Faith Nketsi’s marriage lost its lush early this year following a bad spell of finances.
Nketsi announced that she has separated from controversial businessman Nzuzo Njilo after less than a year of marriage through a statement shared on her social media pages on Thursday.
“It is with great sadness that I have to announce that Nzuzo Njilo and I are in the final stages of our divorce proceedings. No one gets married with the intention to get divorced. However through careful consideration and mediation, we have decided to go our separate ways,” she said.
The reality television star added that she continues to have a good relationship with Njilo who is her co-parent to their daughter.
How the marriage crumbled
The pair had a traditional wedding in April last year. However, Sunday World understands that the pair was already living separate lives in January after she moved out of their matrimonial home to stay at a hotel with their daughter.
Nketsi and Njilo started having issues in their marriage after the businessperson faced fraud allegations that led to his arrest. News24 reported last month that the Durban Magastrate’s Court released Njilo on R10 000 bail after a man identified by the state as Khumbulani Cele opened a case against him.
he was accused of disappearing with trucks belonging to other people worth millions.
The star also reportedly alleged that Njilo was abusing her financially during their short union.
Is there another man in the picture?
In September the media personality was spotted on a date with another man which was captured on camera.
In a four-second video which Sunday World has seen, Nketsi was seen at a restaurant at the Michael Angelo Towers in Sandton.
Speaking to Sunday World newspaper shortly after the video surfaced, Nketsi denied that she was on a date with the man claiming that she was just walking behind him.
“I did see the video. Did you see the video? Does it look like I was with a man? Am I not supposed to walk behind anyone? You guys can go ahead and write whatever you want to write,” she said.
Nketsi insisted that she was not on a date with the man who she was walking behind, stating that everything between her and her husband is fine.
“I am great, thank you” she added briefly.
